11 Days Kenya Eastern Circuit Safari

Your safari will start with a visit to Meru National park with a wide range of animals including the African bush elephant, masai lion, African leopard and many more. Then you shall visit Samburu National Park where Elsas the Lioness was brought up. You proceed to Thompson falls which is the largest water fall in Kenya. You will also visit Lake Nakuru and Masai Mara that is one of the seven wonders of the world for its annual migration of the wildebeests from Serengeti National Park in search of greener pastures.

Day 1: Arrival JKIA


Pick up from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport upon arrival, and then be transferred to the hotel in Nairobi for dinner and overnight.This is the same day that you will be met by our guide and briefing will take place in your hotel before or after your dinner to have an overview of the trip ahead.

Day 2: Nairobi – Meru National Park

Either by road or by air, wake up call at 06:30am,have your breakfast as you prepare to check out the hotel. If by air then you will be transferred to Wilson Airport where you will catch up with the flight to Meru. On arrival you will be met by our Guide who will be driving you around the park. Then head to the Lodge or Camp for lunch. After lunch proceed for the afternoon game drive which will take you until 1830hrs.Return tot the Lodge or camp for dinner and overnight. If using road transport, this will take not less than 4-5 hours to get to Meru National park, the beauty of the road transport is that you will have a great opportunity to have time to sightseeing on the way. On this day you will have your lunch on the way a long Mwea or Meru town before you get to the park. On arrival check in the Lodge or camp and then proceed for the afternoon game drive which normally ends around 1830hrs.Dinner and overnight in the Lodge or Camp.

Day 3: Meru Full day

The whole day is spent in this a amazing park where all the big five are easily seen and spotted, This is the best park to spot both Cheetah and Leopard without difficulty. Elsas Kopje is tucked neatly into the side of Mugwangho Hill, George  Adamsons original campsite and home to Elsa his lioness made famous in the film Born Free. Return to the Lodge or Camp for dinner and overnight after having explored this wonderful park.


Day 4: Meru – Samburu National Reserve

After the breakfast leave Meru and drive north to Samburu,on this day you will have your lunch on the way and most preferred place is at the equator where the demonstration of how the earth revolves the sun is done.After lunch proceed to Samburu arriving early afternoon, check in the Lodge or camp as you prepare to go for the afternoon game drive which takes you till 1800hrs


Day 5: Full day Samburu

Spend the full day enjoying the game and birdlife in this reserve. The Samburu people, closely related to the Maasai tribe, offer a cultural experience to this region. This unique ecosystem offers sightings of some species of wildlife only seen in the Northern. Hemisphere  Grevy Zebra & Reticulated Giraffe, in addition to Beisa Oryx, Gerenuk,Elephants, Cape Buffalo, Crocodiles, Cheetah, Lion & Leopard, etc. Dinner and overnight in the Lodge or Camp.

Day 6: Samburu – Thomson Falls Nyahururu

Leave Samburu after breakfast and head to Nyahururu. This is world-famous Thomson’s falls situated next to one of Kenya’s highest towns, Nyahururu. Placed at 2360 m above the sea level, the falls descends a 72m cliff creating mist that feeds the dense forest below, walking along a downhill bushwalk of sorts is so thrilling and the giant stepping  stone provides excellent photo opportunity to help us take a break. The roar of the waterfall gives sign that you are fast approaching and when the falls unveils itself it’s like being hit with far too much beauty that you don’t quite know what to do with it all. After enjoying the breeze and the beauty of the ravine, its time to go up. The climb back up is one of the most challenging thing and especially for them whom have height phobia with your muscles got a workout and seemed to at times cry out from pain in protest of the steep uphill climb.

Dinner and overnight in the Lodge or Budget Hotel.


Day 7: Thomson Falls – Lake Nakuru

After breakfast leaveNyahururu and drive to Lake Nakuru, this normally takes less than 2 hours. On arrival check in the hotel and have the early lunch then proceed for the game drive. Lake Nakuru National Park, where you will have a chance to visit a unique sanctuary catering for a sizeable number of the endangered rhinoceros and the Rothschild giraffe. Waterbucks as well as the predators such as the lion and leopard are common at the park. Also to be seen is a myriad different variety of birdlife in and around the lake. Flamingoes are also plenty at the lake. Return to the Lodge or Hotel for dinner and overnight.


Day 8: Lake Nakuru – Maasai Mara

After breakfast Leave Lake Nakuru and drive on the floor of Rift Valley, this normally will take like 4 hours to get to Maasaimara. Arrive maasaimara in time for lunch. After lunch proceed for the game drive which takes you until 1830hrs, return to the camp or the Lodge for dinner and overnight.


Day 9: Maasai Mara Full Day

The whole day explore the parks amazingly high concentration of game. This game reserve is Kenya’s finest wildlife sanctuary. Including migrants, well over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. Mara plains are filled with migrating wildebeest and zebra, there is also resident wildlife year round. The Mara’s gentle fertile climate bounded by The Rift, offers perhaps the richest stocked reserve set within some 1672 sqkms – an unlimited spectacle of wildlife. Located 268 kms west of Nairobi, the emphasis here is on game. Herds of immense Elephants, browse among Lion, Buffalo, Thompson’s Gazelle, Zebra and Topi. You may occasionally sight a Rhino or Leopard. In the Mara River Hippos play and Crocs bask on the banks. The annual migration of a million Wildebeest follows the rains north. After exploring the park return to the camp or in Mara Sopa  Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 10: Maasai Mara – Nairobi

We depart from our safari camp and take a morning game drive through the Maasai Mara Reserve. Then we return to bustling Nairobi, arriving at about 14:00 in the afternoon. Head to the hotel  for late lunch. After the late lunch and a bit of relaxing, we shall head to the spa for a soothing and relaxing massage. This will take the better part of the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at the resort.

Day 11: Departure

After breakfast depart to the airport for your return journey.
